Dear Delegate
The foremost aim of the VIBGYOR MUN is to empower today’s youth by enhancing their imagination, igniting their curiosity, stirring their thoughts, and transforming their dreams into reality. I am pleased to see that over the years, the VIBGYORMUN has achieved its goal successfully.
This year’s theme is Sustainable cities and communities – Goal 11 of the Sustainable Development Goals adopted by the United Nations. Cities of the world have been assailed by numerous problems such as lack of affordable housing, sanitation, safety, and health care; influx of migrants; and the ever-present urban pollution. Our responsibility towards the urban environment has increased significantly. A Native American Proverb cautions us adults, ‘We do not inherit the Earth from our ancestors; we borrow it from our children.’ It behoves us to take care of the planet we inhabit.
The Earth is our only home and at stake is our ability to live on this planet. Ensuring the sustainability and stability of our planet is the need of the hour. We, at the VIBGYOR Group, firmly believe that the future lies in the hands of our children who will work committedly to provide viable solutions towards a sustainable future. This will alleviate the mistakes of the generations before them.
From 26 June to 29 June 2024, our zestful delegates from schools in and around Bengaluru as well as across India and all over the world will participate in debates, and discussions to argue, confer, contemplate, and negotiate about urban issues and challenges. These are going to be purposeful days leading to thoughtful considerations and mindful resolutions to make our world better and our cities ‘inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable’ for the current and future generations.
We invite all the energetic and enthusiastic delegates to learn from a definitive and distinctive MUN experience.
Warm wishes
