Dear Delegate

There is no doubt that VIBGYOR MUN has become one of the most outstanding and prominent MUNs. We have watched its evolution from its nascent stage as a school based event to its present day avatar as a Pan India conference. Having been closely associated with its establishment over the past 13 years, I have seen a sea change in the delegates and the quality of debating. In each succeeding year benchmarks have been raised higher and higher, and the sky is the limit for our highly motivated young ones to hone their skills in international relations, critical thinking, reconciliation, public speaking and collaboration.

Today, as we prepare to work on challenges regarding the sustainability of our urban areas, these words serve as a warning. With our cities bursting at the seams, it is certainly the time for us to focus on sustainable urban development in line with the UNSDG Goal 11. It is time for all to work collectively together, to act decisively, listen, negotiate and cooperate to resolve the issues that our cities are grappling with every day. Basic needs such as food, water, hygiene, open spaces, housing, and transportation, are a few of the long list of concerns.

The VIBGYORMUN colloquium is a microcosmic simulation of the process of international diplomacy. We are looking forward to hosting you in Bengaluru from 26 to 29 June 2024. It is our sincere hope that the processes inspire you to imbibe lessons at the conference beyond the committee room and encourage you to work towards bringing about a change for a better and sustainable tomorrow.
